Susan Rochow, R. Psych., has practiced in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, for over 20 years. Susan was originally trained in CBT and psychoeducational assessment, but EMDR therapy has been her primary therapeutic approach since 2007. She became EMDRIA Certified as an EMDR Therapist in 2013 and has studied with Deany Laliotis towards becoming an Approved Consultant in 2022. Her typical clients have complex trauma histories and present with a variety of symptoms (depression, anxiety, relationship problems, etc.), and she works with special populations including first responders and clients for whom faith is a resource and/or source of trauma. As a consultant, Susan is passionate about mentoring EMDR therapists to further their knowledge and skills beyond Basic Training. At the same time, Susan helps consultees to reflect on their role in the therapeutic process, particularly as it relates to therapeutic impasses, and creates a safe environment for personal reflection and growth. She is known for being direct yet warm and caring, and for using metaphors and analogies to explain things clearly and simply. Susan presently offers individual consultation to EMDR therapists seeking certification or who simply want to further develop their skills and knowledge. Group consultation is also available.
