Lisa Garcia

Lisa Garcia, LCSW-C is an EMDRIA-approved Trainer, Consultant and Therapist who is in private practice in Olney, Maryland. Lisa received her master’s degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore School of Social Work in 1997. Since that time, she has worked with diverse populations in a variety of settings including outpatient community mental health, continuing care retirement community, and hospital. Lisa was trained in EMDR in 2016 with Dan Merlis and has been receiving additional training and consultation from Deany Laliotis since that time. She is a life-long learner and is committed to using Relational EMDR to help her clients heal from prior wounds and to strengthen adaptive ways of relating and responding in relationships and life challenges. She works with adults and specializes in treating recent traumatic events, complex developmental and attachment trauma as well as traumatic bereavement. Lisa has received formal EMDR training in R-TEP and G-TEP and has a Master Certificate in Relational EMDR Therapy®.  Lisa provides group and individual case consultation. She enjoys mentoring newly trained clinicians in EMDR therapy as well as providing consultation for Relational EMDR.
