I’m delighted to share an article I wrote, “AIP Case Conceptualization: Easier Said Than Done?” in the Spring 2026 issue of Go With That® magazine published by EMDRIA™. In this feature article, I explore an important understanding in EMDR case conceptualization with complex trauma: moving beyond what happened to what happened next.  

When we focus only on past events, we can miss what clients learned to do or not do to survive; adaptations to unresolved trauma that are now contributing to present-day difficulties. 

By expanding our lens to include these adaptations, along with self-identity and development, we can move beyond symptom relief towards deeper change.
