You’ve taken Part I—now it’s time to advance your training with Part II-A and II-B, building on your foundation to master advanced techniques, refine treatment planning, and work confidently with complex and culturally informed cases.

Part II-A: Advanced Application

In our first three-day segment, we focus on expanding your EMDR toolbox—exploring alternative points of entry, additional strategies to facilitate reprocessing, flexibility in treatment planning to include client and clinical factors in treating complex trauma.

Part II-B: Special Populations & Cultural Competency

One month later, our two-day segment builds on what you’ve learned, helping you meet the needs of clients who face unique challenges, including recent traumatic events, and the impact of systemic and cultural trauma. We’ll explore how to approach sensitive topics with respect, awareness, and clinical effectiveness.

This two-stage format (three days, then two days one month later) is designed to give you the time, guidance, and hands-on application you need to confidently navigate the complexities of trauma treatment, while tailoring EMDR therapy to the unique needs of each client you serve.

Why Part II Matters

This is where EMDR becomes more than a method—it becomes your passion, your expertise, and your most powerful tool for transformation.

  • From protocol to person – Learn to adapt EMDR therapy for each individual client
  • Refined clinical skills – Master strategies for guiding clients through the intricate landscape of memory networks
  • Active facilitation – Move beyond “stepping aside” to confidently support clients during memory reprocessing
  • Specialized knowledge – Gain tools to work with diverse populations, including:
    • Children & adolescents
    • Complex PTSD
    • First responders and military personnel
    • Clients impacted by racial, cultural, and religious trauma

Who is Eligible?

This training is for mental health clinicians licensed for independent practice and currently seeing clients, so you can apply what you learn and receive feedback in consultation.

Completion of the Basic EMDR Training - Part I with The Center is required, and Part 2 must be completed within seven months of your Part I start date.

Pre-licensed clinicians may attend if on a licensure track under supervision, and graduate students are eligible once core coursework is complete and they are working in a clinical setting. Nonprofit and government agency clinicians with a full caseload may qualify for a discount—contact us for details.
