Walda Ciafone

Walda Ciafone, LCSW-C, is an EMDR psychotherapist with over 30 years of professional experience. She is an EMDRIA-approved Consultant and Certified Therapist and provides group and individual consultation. Walda began her career as a therapist to individuals, couples and families. She developed her greater curiosity about trauma while working at George Washington University, training therapists and psychology interns in individual and family therapy. Walda created a full- time private practice, working extensively with clients who present with developmental trauma, PTSD and relational issues. To expand her expertise as a trauma therapist, she trained in EMDR in 1998, later adding Somatic Experiencing, attachment theory and neurobiology training. Walda assisted in Somatic experiencing trainings and facilitates Deany Laliotis’ Masterclasses. Currently, Walda is the Training Coordinator for The Center's faculty training program and offers EMDR consultation in her office and online.
