Basic Training:
Where Your EMDR Practice Begins
EMDRIA-Approved.
Built-in case consultation.
A foundation designed to exceed the standard, not just meet it.

A Foundation Built to Exceed the Standard
Basic Training is your introduction to EMDR therapy as a comprehensive psychotherapy not simply a set of steps to memorize.
You will learn the Adaptive Information Processing model and why it explains how traumatic memories continue to affect present-day functioning.
You will work through all eight phases of EMDR therapy, from case conceptualization through reprocessing and installation of adaptive beliefs.
And you will begin developing the clinical judgment that determines whether EMDR therapy is used well or simply used.
The training totals 46 hours across two parts, exceeding EMDRIA's standard requirements with more supervised practice and consultation built in.
By the end, you will not only understand EMDR therapy. You will feel ready to begin using it with appropriate clients, supported by ongoing consultation as you do

Both personally and professionally, I have benefited so much from Deany’s EMDR Therapy Basic Training. This program was a perfect combination of didactics, videos of real therapy sessions, small group discussions, and, most importantly, the opportunity to practice EMDR therapy with other trainees! I grew immensely from my experiences as the therapist, client, and observer. Plus, I received support for specific questions that came up in my clinical work.

This EMDR Basic Training was overall the best training experience I have ever had. It was both personally and professionally transformative. I highly recommend it, even if you're already trained as an EMDR therapist! The training experience itself was challenging yet supportive, growth-promoting yet affirming.

How Basic Training Is Structured
Basic Training is delivered in two parts, allowing you to structure your training and your schedule with flexibility.
Part 1 is three consecutive training days.
You are introduced to the theory and structure of EMDR therapy, learn the eight phases and the three-pronged approach, and begin practicing core skills in supervised practicums. By the end of Part 1, you can safely begin using EMDR with appropriate clients, supported by case consultation.
Part 2 is five additional days, delivered in two segments roughly a month apart.
Part 2-A is three days, Part 2-B is two days. That gap between segments is intentional — it gives you time to bring real cases into consultation and return ready to deepen your skills.
You may register for the full bundle (Part 1 and Part 2 together at a discount) or register for each part separately.
Both options include the same complete 46-hour curriculum.

What trainees say about Basic Training at The Center
#incredible training | #going to change the course of my clinical practice | #I felt supported | #I was absolutely blown away | #my facilitators were INCREDIBLE
I've taken my EMDR Therapy Basic Training as well as The Craft through The Center for Excellence. I have been practicing for 11 years, and these professional trainings have been invaluable to me. EMDR therapy has completely revolutionized my approach to treatment! Deany Laliotis and her talented facilitators provide excellent guidance and support to help you learn EMDR as a comprehensive psychotherapy framework. The biggest lesson I have learned through The Center is that EMDR is much more than a technique - it is a true vector of healing.

Deany's Basic Training opened my eyes. It was truly excellent. It not only showed me how to practice EMDR but also to understand my clients’ struggles in a different way, more holistically. It was surprising to see my clients literally transform in ways that I could have not imagined before and with only a few EMDR processing sessions! I learned EMDR with Deany, and I am here to stay with The Center to be able to use this method to heal others. It was not only effective for my clients but powerful for my own healing. If you want your clients to take big steps forward, this training is a must!
