Biography

Colette Brooks, LPC, LSATP, CMHC, is affectionately known by those she serves as Dr. Lettie.  She is an EMDRIA-certified Therapist and Consultant.  She is currently a Facilitator in Training under the mentorship of Deany Laliotis. She holds a Masters in Education in Adult Development from The George Washington University, a Masters in Clinical Mental Health and a Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of the Cumberlands.   

Dr. Lettie's expertise lies in assisting individuals and couples who face a variety of emotional difficulties and relationship struggles. As a trauma specialist, she has a particular focus supporting career women, LGBTQ couples, military personnel and their dependents, as well as first responders. Aside from her clinical work, she is a professor and an approved supervisor through the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) and the state of Virginia. She has also provided consultation to government agencies and fortune 500 companies regarding mental health concerns in the workplace. Her commitment to inclusivity and cultural humility drive her passion for supporting other therapists to bring the benefits of EMDR to BIPOC and underserved communities. Dr. Lettie enjoys helping therapists who struggle in their practice of EMDR and uses her unique skills in adult development to help overcome these challenges. She is available for group and individual online consultations.
