Megan Gittins, LPC, is an EMDRIA-certified EMDR Therapist, and a Consultant-In-Training and Facilitator-In-Training with Deany Laliotis for The Center. She completed her master’s degree in Forensic Psychology in 2010, and a postgraduate diploma in Drug and Alcohol Studies from the University of Glasgow in Scotland in 2012. She has a primarily virtual private practice, and is licensed in Arizona, California, Idaho, and Virginia.
Megan specializes in working with clients who are experiencing symptoms of trauma/adverse life events, including dissociation, substance use, anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, stress, and relational challenges. She believes anyone can heal given the right tools and conditions, and feels honored to witness the changes that occur for clients over the course of the therapeutic relationship.
While EMDR therapy is her primary treatment modality, her work is also informed by Polyvagal theory and structural dissociation theory to help inform mindfulness, ego state, harm reduction, and compassion-focused approaches to her work with clients.
Since completion of EMDR basic training in 2018, Megan has actively pursued advanced EMDR trainings and ongoing consultation to further enhance and deepen her skills. Megan offers EMDR consultation online for therapists looking to more deeply understand and apply the AIP model and EMDR to their work with clients.
