Biography

Carmen Pepicelli, LMHC, is an EMDRIA-Certified Therapist and Consultant in private practice in Andover, Massachusetts where she specializes in facilitating lasting healing from complex trauma in adults and children with structural dissociation. She earned her Master’s of Education in Counseling Psychology from Cambridge College after a 15-year career as a PhD-level biomedical scientist. As a first generation immigrant from Austria, Carmen is bilingual in English and German.

As a consultant, she guides therapists in how to recognize maladaptive defenses & attachment patterns, and to effectively and succinctly prepare those with structural dissociation for trauma processing. Carmen explores transference and countertransference reactions, and incorporates parts work, somatic, mindfulness, attachment-based, hypnotic, polyvagal interventions into all phases of EMDR therapy, and helps clinicians modify the standard protocol to facilitate safe trauma reprocessing, including in those with DID. Carmen has extensive advanced training in clinical hypnosis, attachment theory, the treatment of dissociation, parts work and somatic approaches.

Carmen is available for group (online) and individual (online and in-person) consultation in English and German. Her groups offer the opportunity to review case transcripts in detail. Those working towards EMDR certification can accrue both group and individual consultation hours by attending an EMDR consultation group.
