A Big Picture View of EMDR Therapy
Are you interested in getting trained in EMDR but not sure if it's a model that will work for you?
If so, the Explorer Program might be just what you need. It offers an on-demand learning experience that gives you an overview of EMDR principles and procedures, including an excerpt from a processing session. You'll walk away with a better understanding of how EMDR works as a treatment modality.
I’m already trained as an EMDR practitioner. Can I still benefit from the Explorer Program?
Absolutely! The Explorer Program is also designed to help trained practitioners enhance their foundational understanding of EMDR and refine essential skills. It's also an opportunity to sample how we approach EMDR training.

What Can You Expect
While EMDR is best known for its breakthrough treatment for PTSD, it has evolved into a comprehensive, evidence-based approach that treats a broad range of clinical issues ranging from a brief intervention for acute stress, to a more comprehensive approach for addressing low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and other problems of daily living.
EMDR methodology is based on the notion that memory informs our present-day experiences -- for better and for worse -- and that painful life experiences continue to have a negative impact long after they happened. You’ll learn how EMDR can resolve these disturbing experiences so they're truly over and in the past, offering relief from lifelong struggles and instilling hope for a better future.
Important note
The Explorer Program is designed to introduce you to EMDR therapy and its various clinical applications. It is not offered for self-use or as a substitute for our 46-hour, EMDRIA-approved Basic Training, which is a requirement for anyone who wants to practice EMDR therapy as a mental health professional.
