About the Presenter
DEANY LALIOTIS, LICSW, LCSW-C
I’m Deany Laliotis, the Founder & Director of The Center. I am passionate about the power of EMDR therapy to transform lives. Since 1993, I had the privilege of working very closely with Dr. Francine Shapiro, the originator of EMDR, and was mentored by her until her death in 2019. I was the Director of Training for EMDR Institute Inc., the program developed by Dr. Shapiro that trained clinicians all over the world in EMDR therapy. We trained thousands of EMDR therapists over the years in this comprehensive approach to healing trauma. My vision has always been to offer a continuum of trainings from Basic to Masterclasses, which is what The Center currently offers. We welcome you to join us as part of our community of lifelong learners!

Instructional Level: Introductory
Target Audience: This training is appropriate for doctoral‑level psychologists and other independently licensed mental health professionals.
Course Description
While EMDR is best known for its breakthrough treatment of PTSD, it has evolved into an evidence-based approach that offers a continuum of options from a brief intervention for acute stress to a more comprehensive treatment for low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and other problems of daily living. This robust methodology is based on the notion that memory informs our present-day experiences, for better and for worse and that painful life experiences continue to have a negative impact long after they happened. You’ll learn how this approach helps your clients resolve these disturbing memories, offering symptom relief from lifelong struggles and instilling hope for a better future.
