Shannon Schiefer

Shannon Schiefer, MA, LPC is a psychotherapist in private practice in Tempe, Arizona. She is an EMDRIA Certified therapist and EMDRIA-approved Consultant, working under the guidance of Deany Laliotis. Shannon received her Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Chapman University in 2002 and a BA in Social Work from Western Michigan University. She was trained in EMDR in 2014.

Since then, Shannon’s interest and passion for working with complex, developmental, and attachment trauma blossomed as she attended Deany’s advanced trainings and consultation groups. Her previous employment includes working for Hospice of the Valley, Cancer Support Community of Arizona and in community mental health working with individuals with complex trauma. She continues to work with populations dealing with bereavement, chronic and long term illnesses as well as infertility, trauma, anxiety, and perfectionism.

Shannon regularly attends advanced EMDR trainings. She also receives additional training in Internal Family Systems, Sensorimotor, and AEDP. She makes a commitment to champion clients’ strengths and capabilities while doing deep trauma work. Shannon includes ego state work to develop curiosity and a compassionate understanding of how one has survived their losses and trauma.
