Biography

Victoria Britt, LCSW, LMFT is a psychotherapist, and marriage & family therapist who has maintained a private clinical and supervision practice in Montclair, NJ and New York City for over 30 years. She trained with Francine Shapiro in 1994 and became a facilitator for the EMDR Institute in 1995, remaining there until 2020 when she joined Deany Laliotis and The Center. Her specialties include trauma and dissociation, attachment and anxiety disorders, and the intergenerational transmission of trauma. She is skilled in a variety of EMDR protocols and techniques and loves working with EMDR novices, helping them integrate this powerful psychotherapy into their practices. Ms. Britt has introduced EMDR to diverse groups including the Orthodox Jewish community and the Juvenile Justice system in NJ. She is also a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) and integrates body-oriented principles in an EMDR framework. Her foundation in the field was formed by her training as a family therapist at the Ackerman Institute in NYC . She has presented nationally and internationally on EMDR, Energy Psychology and body oriented psychotherapies. She is the co-author of the book Evolving Thought Field Therapy: The Clinician’s Handbook of Diagnosis, Theory and Practice.
