Biography

Carol Mettus, LCSW-C is a clinical social worker, psychodynamic psychotherapist and an EMDRIA-approved Consultant trained by Deany Laliotis and Dan Merlis. Carol was born in the UK, lived in Australia and for the past 20 years has calls the US home. Carol started working in outpatient mental health clinics and has experience with different racial, cultural and and ethnic groups and is now in private practice in Frederick, MD. Carol has been using EMDR in her practice since 2011 and has helped people overcome their traumas and help them from being “stuck” to a more fulfilling and rewarding life. Carol works with adults, students, individuals, couples and families. In addition to Carol’s extensive EMDR trainings, she has post graduate trainings that include the clinical program at the Washington School of Psychiatry, externship with Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, Ego State Therapy and is attending conferences and trainings to improve her ability to help her clients heal. Carol believes in the mind and body connection and was drawn to EMDR therapy because of the intimate mind-body connection. Her areas of practice and expertise include trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, anger, stress, life transitions, painful life struggles, and health issues.
