- Distinguish between the client’s symptoms and the problem
- Collaborate with the client to develop a mutual understanding of the problem and their goals for treatment
- Apply the Floatback Technique and the Affect Scan
- Use dual attention as a means to help clients stay emotionally resourced in and out of reprocessing sessions
- Successfully apply the standard procedural steps to reprocess a Target memory
- Learn how and when to use EMD and EMDr as fractionated approaches to desensitizing and processing memory
- Identify and apply the clinical themes of Responsibility, Safety and Power/Control (Choices) to identify appropriate negative and positive beliefs that correspond to your AIP case conceptualization
- Use one or more interweave strategies to facilitate the client’s experience in reprocessing while staying out of the way
- Identify and strengthen positive changes using the Dynamic Reevaluation phase to promote the client’s growth beyond the remission of their symptoms

Deany Laliotis

I’m Deany Laliotis, the Founder & Director of The Center. I am passionate about the power of EMDR therapy to transform lives. Since 1993, I had the privilege of working very closely with Dr. Francine Shapiro, the originator of EMDR, and was mentored by her until her death in 2019. I was the Director of Training for EMDR Institute Inc., the program developed by Dr. Shapiro that trained clinicians all over the world in EMDR therapy. We trained thousands of EMDR therapists over the years in this comprehensive approach to healing trauma. My vision has always been to offer a continuum of trainings from Basic to Masterclasses, which is what The Center currently offers. We welcome you to join us as part of our community of lifelong learners!
